Westerliegh Judo Club Visit

Metro Judo Club was proud to host a special Adaptive/SEN judo session on Saturday 13 June, welcoming visitors from Westerleigh Judo Club for an inclusive and inspiring day on the mat.

The session brought together judoka of all abilities, highlighting the power of judo to build confidence, coordination, and community. It was fantastic to see members from both clubs training side by side, sharing skills, and supporting one another in a positive and encouraging environment.

We were also honoured by the attendance of both the new Mayor of Greenwich and the outgoing Mayor, whose presence recognised the importance of inclusive sport within the local community. Their support reinforces the growing impact of adaptive judo and the opportunities it creates for young people across the borough.

One special moment was presenting Izzie with a well-deserved achievement award, celebrating her ongoing dedication and contribution to adaptive judo. Her commitment continues to make a real difference in creating accessible pathways into the sport.

This session was proudly supported by London Youth and Young Greenwich, whose continued backing helps us expand opportunities and deliver meaningful programmes for young people.

We look forward to building on this momentum and welcoming more clubs and participants to future sessions.
